Although you can get cheaper alternatives, nothing ever quite seems the same as a good old Mac lipstick. They are amazing quality, have high end (yet very simplistic) packaging that no other brand can get quite right and most of all, amazing colour payoff.
Mac are widely known for their extensive range of colours that suit all occasions and skin tones and you are pretty much always guaranteed to find a colour that you must simply own.
My own collection started around a year ago, and has grown (not enormously but quite a large amount) over that period of time.
This would be a massively long blog post if I did all of my lipsticks at once, so I am splitting it into three blogposts
- The Limited Editions
- The Red's
- The Nudes
So just to quickly show you what I hold all my lipsticks in - These acrylic storage boxes have multiple little compartments and are perfect for my lipsticks. You can buy them from Amazon and Ebay for around £4.

These three lipsticks hold authority over my other mac lippies, simply because they are by far the prettiest.
Okay, so firstly we have Sin. This particular one is from the 2015 Toledo collection, but is available in the standard packaging still. It is a deep red/purple matte, and this looks amazing with dark hair. All i will say is that mattes like this are very drying so if you already have dry lips, may not be for you.
One of the most awaited Mac collections of the year, the Cinderella collection sold out in under half a day. My lipstick from the collection is in the shade Royal Ball.
Oh my goodness the packaging on this is to DIE for literally I fell in love and could not not own this lipstick. It is a Lustre finish which gives off just a sheen, so not very much colour, but a lot of shine. If you can get your hands on this, do it.
Lastly, one of my favourite collections of all time. Alluring Aquatics and this shade is Siren Song. This collection is from 2014 and some of the other shades are extremely difficult to get a hold of now.
This again is a lustre finish and is great for applying over other lipsticks to add more shine. I love this lipstick so much.
Swatches below from left to right - Sin, Siren Song, Royal Ball.
Love, Lois xo
